Anti-piracy and copy protection software developer ECD Systems has announced the finalists for its 1st Annual Independent Game Developers Showcase, an event devised to bring greater visibility to independent games.
The finalists, which will be shown and voted on at next month's E3 Expo in Los Angeles, include Dodge that Anvil!
by Rabidlab, Mayabin
by Virtue Games, Potion Motion
by Flashbang Studios, and TubeTwist
by 21-6 Productions. The development team whose game earns the most votes will take home a gameplay-optimized demo PC, as well as a free license for Digital Armor's software, which helps stop unauthorized copying of PC titles.
Semi-finalists for the contest included Cartel Games's Mythic Blades
and Introversion Software's popular Darwinia
, which took home
the $20,000 Seumas McNally Grand Prize in the IGF Main Competition in March.
"These companies are proof that the passion for creating innovative and exciting games is alive and well," said ECD Systems CEO Jack Hart. "All of the entrants share a sense of creativity that should be rewarded with the knowledge that their creations will be protected from unlawful copying. This is a tough competition and we look forward to the final judging by the E3 attendees."
