Electronic Arts has officially announced the first details of two of the three games being in-house developed along with Academy Award winning director and producer Steven Spielberg, including a block-building party game for the Nintendo Wii and PS3/Xbox 360/PC title that focuses on building a relationship with a "mysterious female." The first title, exclusive to the Wii, promises physical gameplay that will let players manipulate blocks with the Wii remote in "over a hundred challenging, action-packed interactive games that take blocks to a new level of creativity and fun." The title will include challenges for both single player, co-op, and versus multiplayer, and will let Wii players build both games and structures, or use the remote as a destructive tool to bring the structures crashing down. The second and "more ambitious" Spielberg project is intended for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC at some point in the future, and is described as "a contemporary action-packed adventure that puts you in the leading role of an emotional journey where your actions tell the tale." The title, says EA, will contain an epic story, and will focus on the "touching and ever-changing relationship between you and a mysterious female character who holds the key to many futures." The titles, just two of three currently being developed in conjunction with Spielberg at EA as part of a deal first announced in 2005, currently do not have titles or expected release dates. EA has noted that it will own the intellectual properties that spring from the collaboration. Said Spielberg, "I am a gamer myself and game development has always intrigued me. Now I’ve been able to jump in and do it, enjoying the creative collaboration with the EALA team on our first two games and I feel we have two incredibly unique projects in development.” Added EA general manager Neil Young, “Steven’s vision as both a storyteller and a gamemaker makes partnering with him an incredible experience. Together we’re making games that are unique and that we feel will each move the medium in their own way.”
