Officials from Electronic Arts have announced that the company has signed a new publishing agreement with developer Gas Powered Games. The developer, whose last title was
Dungeon Siege for Microsoft, is now working on a PC real-time strategy title for the company for launch in 2006. The game is not thought to be a sequel to
Total Annihilation, the developer’s first game, as the rights to the series are tied up with Atari.
At the same time EA Partners has signed up a publishing agreement with Koei to publish
Samurai Warriors in Europe. The game, as
Sengoku Musou, has been one of the biggest hits this year in Japan.
This is the second big developer signing for the company in as many days (following
yesterday’s agreement with Castaway Entertainment) and part of a wider pattern this year, that has seen the company securing more and more high profile licenses, developers and publishing deals.
