Following reports of massive layoffs at the company, Disney Interactive today announced Adam Sussman has been named Senior VP of Publishing for Disney Games.
Sussman has worked with Disney before, overseeing business initiatives in digital entertainment for the company until 2005. He then served two years as general manager at THQ, where he worked on product development, marketing, business development and strategy.
Most recently, Sussman served as vice president of Electronic Arts' mobile division, where he helped the publisher rise to dominance on the iOS App Store and other mobile platforms.
Sussman will serve with co-president and former Playdom CEO John Pleasants, who, along with co-president James Pitaro, replaced
departing president Steve Wadsworth last October.
Disney Games has gone through quite a few changes since the company's
$763 million purchase of Playdom. That period has seen the
shutdown of Tron: Evolution studio Propaganda Games and, just yesterday, reports of
significant layoffs across the group.
The group's latest release, the Warren Spector-helmed
Epic Mickey,
sold 1.3 million units during the important 2010 holiday season.
