Electronic Arts' Guildford-based Bright Light studio has a new IP in the works for the publisher's family-friendly Play label -- called Create, it's a foray into user-created content couched in an environment of level-based challenges. Releasing this November on Wii, PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, it'll also support Kinect and Move and focuses on group play. "Create uses families’ imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging," says Harvey Elliott, VP and general manager at EA Bright Light. "We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination." EA describes a brush and tool-based interface that adds textures, props and objects that can be animated by the player to create scenes. By playing different challenges and interacting with the customization features, users unlock additional assets and options. An official website for the game shows screenshots of bike jump ramps, hoop targets and other colorful environments that apparently can be built in Create. It'll also offer the ability for users to share their creations online, and download and remix those that others have uploaded.
