The Wii version of Electronic Arts'
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 will come bundled at launch in North America with Nintendo's new MotionPlus accessory, EA announced today.
Both
Tiger Woods and
EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis will include the accessory when they launch on Wii in Europe, EA adds. The European and North American releases of both titles are planned for this Summer. The bundles will retail for £49.99 in Europe, but an equivalent bundle price for the U.S. was not announced.
The company says the move is a "limited-time offer" to offer added value for customers who buy early. The MotionPlus accessory attaches to the Wii Remote and is intended to enhance its motion-sensing capabilities.
EA says the game will use Motion Plus to add authenticity to the experience of swinging a golf club and tennis racket.
Tiger Woods -- which also includes a frisbee golf mode -- is developed by EA's Orlando-based Tiburon team, while EA Canada in Vancouver handled
Grand Slam Tennis, also slated for additional platforms later in the year.
EA's Wii sports titles are among the first to announce use of the accessory; Nintendo has
already announced that its own
Wii Sports Resort will also come bundled with Motion Plus. Sega's
Virtua Tennis 2009 will also use the accessory, but no bundle plans for that title have been announced.
Motion Plus is also available separately as a $19.99 stand-alone beginning June 8, 2009.
"The functionality of the Wii MotionPlus will help us deliver the authentic, true-to-life sports motion that will redefine the sports experience on the Wii," says EA Sports president Peter Moore.
