Discreet's newest extention to it's popular 3D Studio Max 4, Reactor, was unveiled at the Game Developers Conference. Reactor, powered by Havok, realisitically simulates cloth, rope, liquid, and hard/soft-body objects that collide, bounce, break and stretch. Reactor is being demonstrated at Discreet's booth (1328) on the Expo floor.
Reactor will include a real-time dynamics simulation previewer, providing an interactive viewing window. Game developers can integrate a dynamics library directly into a game title.
Reactor is expected to begin shipping in late Spring 2001, for an estimated retail price of US $1000.
