Discreet has announced the availability of a stand-alone version of the Mental Ray 3.2 renderer that is already integratred with 3Ds Max 6.
The stand-alone version enables the renderer to be used in rendering farms and on workstations without 3Ds installed, thus increasing flexibility and reducing the cost of adding rendering seats.
The stand-alone version of Mental Ray 3.2 is available through Discreet’s reseller channel for $1,500 per seat, or $10,000 for a 10-pack license plus $1,000 for each additional seat.
