Top developers have been discussing their visions for videogames in the world of tomorrow, courtesy of a CNN Money article published this week. Some of those who describe the gaming world of their imagination in 2025 include Sega's Yuji Naka, who envisages that "there will be 3D projection technology that will allow you to play without a monitor", meaning Sonic the Hedgehog will race alongside you, as well as Maxis/EA's Will Wright, who argues that micro-gestures of hands and fingers, much as used in the current mouse, make for much more interesting game control, and suggests: "I think this new spatial/gesture language represents the most probable future of input devices." The article, the first of a series of two, will conclude next week with information on the genres and types of games that developers see being popular in 2025.
