Massachusetts-based video game talent agency Digital Development Management announced today the launch of a new Game Industry Services division focused on representation for "game publishers, brand & license holders and investors."
Since its launch in 2005, DDM has helped find publishers for games on behalf of 15 independent studios in North America and Europe, including Left 4 Dead
developer Turtle Rock Studios, Might and Magic Heroes VI
developer Black Hole Entertainment and Ninja Theory, which recently signed
on to create an entry in the Devil May Cry
But this new division will expand DDM's focus to include consulting services and finance, distribution and development sourcing for the more business-oriented side of the industry.
DDM President Joe Minton said the company's existing "executive level relationships" with the developer and publisher communities made the new division "a natural extension of our existing service platform."
"With our new GIS group we can focus on helping publishers, brand holders and investors find opportunities that line up the right relationships and business goals in order to meet new objectives," said Jeff Hilbert, DDM founder and managing partner.
DDM did not name any specific associated publishers or IP holders in the announcement, but promised such deals would be announced in the next quarter.
This isn't DDM's only recent expansion. Earlier this year, the company started a new division
focused specifically on social games.
