Organizers of the forthcoming 2008 Develop Conference and Expo have announced a quartet of Japanese developers to speak at the event, including the creators of PSP rhythm action title Patapon and noted PSP/PlayStation 3 game Echochrome.
Event organizer Tandem Events has announced a quartet of Japanese speakers for the forthcoming 2008 Develop Conference and Expo, due to take place on July 29-31st in Brighton, UK. Scheduled to speak at the event will be Pyramid, Inc. director Atsushi Ii (Ejun) and Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Japan associate producer Junichi Yoshizawa, both of whom were involved in critically acclaimed PSP rhythm action title Patapon. Also speaking at the conference will be Jun Fujiki of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)/Kyushu University and Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Japan director Tatsuya Suzuki, who will discuss PSP and PlayStation 3 title Echochrome. Fujiki is the creator of the Object Locative Environment (OLE) coordinate system, which provided the technology behind Echochrome. “We are privileged to welcome Ii-san, Yoshizawa-san, Fujiki-san and Suzuki-san to the Develop Conference and are thrilled that we can offer our delegates the opportunity to be inspired by what can only be described as some of the most creative video games designers on the planet,” said Tandem Events managing director Andy Lane. The third annual Develop Conference will feature more than ninety speakers and sixty sessions organized into seven different tracks: Audio, Art & Animation, Business, Coding, Game Design, Production and World View.
