Games Convention Asia in Singapore will feature its own Asia-Pacific centric D.I.C.E. Summit, thanks to a new partnership with the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.
Seven renowned developers will lead the summit, including NanaOn-Sha's Masaya Matsuura (PaRappa the Rapper
, Major Minor's Majestic March
) and Gas Powered Games founder Chris Taylor (Dungeon Siege, Supreme Commander
AIAS established the D.I.C.E. Summit in 2002 with the aim of creating an "exclusive forum for the interactive entertainment community's best minds to share ideas and experiences outside their studios," according to AIAS president Joseph Olin.
"As the cultural influence of games has become truly global, it seemed only natural to create a similar forum to serve the game-makers in Asia-Pacific," Olin explains.
LMI Asia is the subsidiary of GC organizer Leipziger Messe, with whom AIAS is partnering on this new summit. Managing director Jorg Zeissig says the presence of a D.I.C.E. Summit at GC Asia "validates the need for a conference and convention in Asia-Pacific."
The GC Asia conference is taking place at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore from September 17th to 20th, 2009.
