Criterion Releases RenderWare Graphics 3.4

Criterion Software has launched RenderWare Graphics 3.4, the company's graphics engine for game development. The new features in version 3.4 include:

  • A new exporter framework, enabling modifications in the art asset export process
  • A generic animation toolkit for both hierarchical and non-hierarchical animation, allowing the key-framing of any parameter
  • A skin splitter toolkit, that supports the splitting of skinned meshes to a set number of bones increasing the maximum limit from 64 to 256.
  • The Pipeline Delivery System and G3x rendering pipes for PlayStation 2 development, which increase performance by operating under specific conditions and let you configure them according to your game's
  • Performance enhancements to the OpenGL renderer for PC, and support for multi-texturing options
  • DirectX 8 support for the PC
  • An advanced memory manager for textures and vertex buffers for Xbox
