Officials from MediaLive International have announced that this year’s Comdex technology trade show has been cancelled. The move comes after what the company describes as several years of decline in audience and exhibitor figures. Comdex is one of the oldest computing trade shows in the world and one of the most important events in the technology calendar during the 90s. Recently though, the event has now been overshadowed by the CES event in the US and the CeBit event in Germany. "We feel that while we could run Comdex profitably this year, it really wouldn't serve the interests of the broader IT industry," said MediaLive vice president Eric Faurot. Despite this setback the company will attempt to resurrect the event next year. Source: CNET News.com
