Former GameSpot Mobile editor and current Foci Mobile lead analyst Steve Palley talks to Nokia's Gregg Sauter about the future of the company's mobile game strategy in this latest 'Going Mobile' column, revealing the timetable for the company's relaunch of its cellphone game infrastructure. Particularly interesting is the following information about Nokia's plans for new game-related cellphones: "A final interesting tidbit from the interview has to do with Nokia’s gaming device strategy. Sauter mentioned that Nokia will release new “game optimized devices” that feature landscape-oriented screens, game controls, and so forth. Also, some of these devices will sport ATI hardware video acceleration; Sauter confirmed that this will mean the bifurcation of the platform between accelerated and non-accelerated games, at least temporarily." You can now read the full Gamasutra column on the subject for more of Palley's insight on Nokia's present and future (no registration required, please feel free to link to this article from external websites).
