A group of victim's families has filed a $5 billion lawsuit against the game makers and website producers they say helped motivate the Columbine school shooting.
The families are seeking damages from 25 entertainment companies, among them game developers and publishers including Nintendo, Sega, Sony, and id Software. “Absent the combination of extremely violent videogames and these boys' incredibly deep involvement, use of and addiction to these games and the boys' basic personalities, these murders and this massacre would not have occurred,” reads the suit.
