Codeplay, the UK-based maker of game programming tools, announced a new licensing program for its VectorC{VU} compiler. The company is now offering VectorC{VU} at a quarter the normal price to independent game developers. If the publisher buys the game, the publisher pays the balance. If the game is not published, there is nothing more to pay. The pricing for independent developers is £500.00/E$750.00/US$790.00. VectorC{VU} is a C compiler (with some C++ features) which generates micro-mode code for the PS2 vector units.
