UK publisher Codemasters has announced the hiring of three industry vets, including former Konami, Sega and Capcom executives, to help widen the company's U.S. presence and operations in its Burbank, CA branch, as part of its "aggressive plans for growth in North America." The U.S. management team will be overseen with the hiring of former Konami Digital Entertainment COO Geoff Mulligan as president, where he will report to Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens. Mulligan has also served as senior vice president of business development for Acclaim Entertainment and president of Activision International. Also hired is Catherine Fowler as senior VP of publishing. Fowler was prepreviously senior vice president of sales and marketing at Konami and director of sales at Mattel, Inc. Finally, former Sega of America and Capcom VP of marketing and communications Charles Bellfield will join the company as its new senior vice president of publishing. Bellfield has also previously served as senior vice president of Edelman Public Relations, managing the company's Microsoft account. Said president Mulligan, "A strong U.S. operation is essential in turning Codemasters into a truly global force in the gaming industry. The U.S. team is excited to be a part of this expansion effort. Each new team member is a builder, bringing the experience and innovative drive to leverage the company's legacy while focusing on new growth opportunities in the U.S. and beyond."
