NewsSpeculation on where former Ubisoft Montreal creative director Clint Hocking would end up settles today with news that he's joined San Francisco-based LucasArts. "We are pleased to announce that Clint Hocking has joined LucasArts as creative director on an unannounced project," a LucasArts rep simply stated to consumer site GameSpot. Hocking left his position at Ubisoft after nine years with the Montreal studio, shipping titles like Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Far Cry 2, and noting that he was looking for a new challenge in the industry. "I am too comfortable. I am too content. And I know where that can lead for me. Fortunately, for the first time in my life, I know the way forward," he wrote in May, when he announced his resignation on his personal blog. LucasArts did not comment further on the nature of Hocking's new work with the company, beyond that it's an unannounced project. LucasArts is known to be working with BioWare on Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO and developing recently-announced sequel Force Unleashed II, among other projects.
