Independent game developer Climax (Sudeki, ATV Offroad Fury 3, Moto GP
) has announced multiple new additions to its Los Angeles-based development studio, including the appointment of Erik Gloersen as the new Climax LA Studio Head.
Gloersen founded Funcom in 1993, and has previously taken roles including the Managing Director of Looking Glass Studios, a management position at Electronic Arts Los Angeles, and most recently Studio Manager of Turbine Entertainment's now-closed
Santa Monica office.
Joining Gloersen at Climax LA are new hires including Lead Artist Vanessa Miles (formerly at Electronic Arts Los Angeles), Lead Designer Jeremy Parker (formerly of Treyarch) and Designer Matt Sophos (formerly at Ion Storm and Electronic Arts Los Angeles).
Climax originally announced
its intentions to aggressively expand Climax LA in December 2004, following the completion of its first title, an Xbox conversion of Tron 2.0 Killer Application
for Buena Vista Games. In relation to these announcements, Gloersen stated: "My vision for Climax LA is to further elevate the studio... into one of the industry's elite developers."
