Two different video game-related academic conferences, both co-ordinated by the School of Computing and Information Technology at the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom, are gearing up for their 2005 events. The CGAMES (Computer Games: Animation, Mobile, and Educational Systems) conference will be in its 7th year, while 2005's CGAIMS (Computer Games: AI and Mobile Systems) will be its 6th. The first show will be CGAIMS, which in 2005 will be located at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. CGAIMS is dedicated to presentations on computer games design, education, as well as AI within games. The conference schedule has not yet been finalized, due to the submission deadline not yet having passed, according to the official CGAIMS website. The conference will be held from July 27-30. The CGAMES show will be held later in the year in Angoulême, France, together with the International Festival of Animation. The conference, which runs from November 14-16, is still open to paper submissions until August 31st; the CGAMES conference website has further details on the submission guidelines, but papers on "animation, mobile platforms, education, and AI for modelling and programming 'believable characters'" are especially welcome.
