Center for Digital Image and Sound (CDIS) is updating its offerings for budding game developers who want to learn the ins and outs of making games. Located in Vancouver BC, Canada, CDIS is the only XSI Authorized Training Center in Western Canada. CDIS newly expanded facilities include instruction in Motion Capture and HDTV training as part of the school's courses in Game Production, Digital Film and Animation.
CDIS provides XSI and MoCap classes on weekends to allow interested professionals to take advantage of seminars and courses. With a combined area of 43,000 sq. feet, three CDIS campuses provide students with year-round access to digital video, effects and animation labs and recording studios. Instructors and students use the latest industry standard equipment, including fifty XSI stations, a full compositing room, Avid DS, twenty dual-screen/SDI Combustion and three Flint stations.
Through the recent addition of Motion Capture classes, students have access to the permanent Motion Analysis System at the Shriner's Gait Lab in Vancouver, BC. To balance the course, CDIS has formed a partnership with PhoeniX Technologies Incorporated (PTI), developer of the world's fastest active optical tracking system.
In addition to MoCap studies, CDIS students can take High Definition Television training, using the LA Film School's new 6,000 sq. foot digital soundstage. The LA Film School is equipped with Sony's 24-frame Cine Alta cameras, a High-Definition system designed for the professional film industry. CDIS students will fly to LA to participate in HDTV classes.
