Officials have announced the first details of Casual Connect Europe: East 2007, organized in conjunction with the Casual Games Association. The event will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine on October 17th to 19th.
With Eastern European developers becoming increasingly involved in both the traditional and casual games markets, the event is expected to be well attended, with all written and spoken content translated into both Russian and English.
Organizers claim that casual game development in Eastern Europe is at an all-time high, with the Eastern European and Russian game markets growing at a rate of approximately 20 percent each month. Overall growth in the markets, from 2006 to 2007, is estimated at 700 percent.
Featured speakers already confirmed for the event include Ron Powers, vice president of development at Oberon Media; Daniel Bernstein, founder and CEO of Sandlot Games; Mark Cottam, CEO of MumboJumbo; and Jason Kapalka, co-founder and chief creative officer of PopCap Games.
Other speakers are also expected to be confirmed from companies including RealNetworks, iWin.com, CTXM, Puzzle Labs, Nevosoft, Arkadium, Friends Games, PlayFirst, Enkord, IT Territory, Alawar, Reflexive Entertainment, Merscom, I-Play, Absolutist and Intenium.
