Carnegie Mellon to Award 5 Aussies $10K Scholarships

Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center in Adelaide will be honoring five Australian students with scholarships of $10,000USD per semester.
Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center in Adelaide will be giving away five scholarships of $10,000USD per semester to Australian students pursuing a master’s degree in entertainment technology. The scholarship is renewable up to three times, giving students who stay at the Adelaide campus the opportunity to have funding throughout the two-year course. “This is an excellent opportunity for Australian students to participate in the world's leading master’s program in the entertainment field,” said John Buchanan, program director of the Australian campus, in a press statement. “In particular, recent graduates seeking careers in the game industry should consider applying for these scholarships.” The Entertainment Technology Center looks to combine the fields of technology and fine arts and is affiliated with the highly regarded Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. The Adelaide campus was established in 2005 to offer Australian students three different programs, one of which is the master’s in entertainment technology. The master’s in entertainment technology is a two-year program built around semester-long project courses, which bring together students from different disciplines with the projects focused on interdisciplinary teamwork. The program has to date graduated approximately 150 students. Additionally, a number of start-up companies have grown from ETC projects, reflecting the entrepreneurial energy inherent in the program. For more information about the scholarships, see the university’s official announcement.
