A representative from Capcom has confirmed to Gamasutra that as of March 19, vice president of marketing Charles Bellfield has left the company's US headquarters.
As originally revealed on industry business site GameDaily, the representative confirmed the reported departure, though no other information could be confirmed at this time, including who will be taking Bellfield's place in the interim.
Bellfield was
originally named to the position in June of last year, where he oversaw the company’s strategic and operational marketing efforts including brand and product management, publicity, customer service, e-commerce, and the company's website.
Previous to his role with Capcom, Bellfield served as the global head of communications at Autodesk, Inc. where he created and managed the company’s corporate and industry communications programs.
Bellfield also served as senior Vice President at Edelman Public Relations, managing a number of high profile consumer projects for clients including Microsoft, and spent five years at Sega of America as vice president of its strategy and corporate affairs where he lead marketing and corporate communications for the launch of the Dreamcast and its transition from console manufacturer to a software publisher.
