Havok has signed what it calls a "significant" deal with Capcom, through which Havok Physics becomes the chosen middleware for the publisher's Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles Capcom also used Havok Physics in Lost Planet, Dead Rising and Resident Evil 5, so the new deal marks a new phase in an existing partnership. Havok Physics is real-time collision detection and physical simulation solution, which the company says has been used in over 200 games, and over 65 titles launching this year. "Havok Physics was easily integrated into Capcom’s existing game development pipeline and we believe these triple-A projects will showcase the unparalleled flexibility and robustness of Havok Physics," said Havok managing director David O'Meara. Added Jun Takeuchi, Capcom's general manager of Research and Development: "We chose to work with Havok because its software is the fastest and most scalable physics engine available. Havok’s support and documentation sets the gold standard in the industry."
