Capcom this week projected fiscal 2010 unit sales for major upcoming releases -- all big sequels with plenty of hit potential. During the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, the Osaka, Japan-based publisher said that it expects the PSP game Monster Hunter Freedom 3 to sell 3.6 million units. It's the highest unit sales estimate listed by Capcom in its latest financial report, despite the fact it will be released only in Japan, late in the year. Capcom expects the Blue Castle Games-developed Dead Rising 2, the sequel to the internally-developed 2006 Xbox 360 exclusive Dead Rising, to sell 3 million units. The game is slated for an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 release in late September/early October this year in Japan, U.S. and Europe. Lost Planet 2, released this week in Western territories -- to mediocre reviews -- and in Japan later this month, will sell 2.2 million units during the fiscal year, Capcom estimates. Following its disappointing fiscal 2010 results, Capcom also forecast the recently-announced team-based fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to sell 2 million units worldwide. Capcom expects the game to launch in spring 2011.
