According to reports Japanese publisher and developer Capcom has shut down a number of its satellite studios, including offices in Tokyo and Nagoya. The majority of Capcom’s development work however takes place in its Osaka headquarters and this has been unaffected by the cutbacks.
The closure of the smaller studios though will leave Capcom without any in-house PC development team and will also see the end of the Production Studio 6 team who worked on the critical and commercial failure
Chaos Legion.
The other studios that will be forced to close were overseen by one-time senior managing director Yoshiki Okamoto, who left the company to start his own development studio – taking many of the key staff from these studios with him.
