Canadian Videogame College Launches Aggressive Scholarship Program

The Center for Digital Imaging and Sound (CDIS), a Burnaby, Canada-based private college, will give out over $200,000 in scholarships for its three-year Video Game Development Program.
CDIS officials say that the new scholarships are designed to attract young programmers away from "generic computer science programs" at other universities. $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded beginning this June, and an additional $100,000 will be awarded in various amounts for students who qualify to enter the second or third year of the program directly. Amounts awarded will depend on an applicant’s academic and personal background and their passion for video games. Tuition for the three-year "Game Design - Applied Programming" program is approximately $11,000 per year. More information and scholarship applications can be found on the school's site at www.gameschool.com or by emailing [email protected].
