Officials from BreakAway (
A Force More Powerful) have announced that the company's founder and CEO Doug Whatley will present a talk at the upcoming Serious Games Forum, scheduled to take place at Purdue University on April 5.
Purdue is hosting the event, which is expected to see leading experts in the fields of modeling, simulation and serious games discuss their most recent projects and explore how video game technology continues to impact the way we play, teach, train, learn and communicate across a variety of industries and organizations.
During his presentation, Whatley will discuss some of the ways game-based simulations have already made changes, why and how they will be increasingly adopted for use by a wider audience, and how new tools based in game technology can be used to see into and experience our future.
Whatley joins other speakers confirmed for the conference, including Howard Phillips of Microsoft, Rudy P. Darken of MOVES and Naval Postgraduate School, and Andrea Lauer Rice of Lauer Learner. In addition, the event will also host an afternoon demonstration of a new portable virtual reality system from WorldViz.
