Developer Blizzard has announced that its fourth Worldwide Invitational convention will be held June 28-29 at the Porte de Versailles Exposition Center in Paris, with developer panels, hands on game exhibitions, an auction, and more. Blizzard says the Invitational is held to celebrate "the communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft, Diablo and StarCraft series" and showcase the skills of its players. Open to anyone 16 and up for a ticket price of €70/£55 (approximately $100), the developer says the two day invitational will include StarCraft, Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers, artist and developer signings and hands-on play with forthcoming games and expansions like World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and StarCraft II. The event will also include "merchandise and other products based on the Blizzard Entertainment game universes," a silent auction, musical performances, and other to-be-announced activities. Said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime, “We look forward to bringing the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational to Europe for the first time and sharing our latest news with players there. In addition to the great tournament gaming that will be taking place at the event, we’re planning an entertaining show for all attendees.”
