Audio solution provider Audiokinetic has announced that Mass Effect developer BioWare's Austin development studio is using Audiokinetic's Wwise audio solution in the development of its upcoming MMO title. Wwise is a suite of software designed to provide a complete solution to audio pipelines in game development, supporting "every phase of audio development," according to Audiokinetic's webpage. Audiokinetic says BioWare chose Wwise for its toolset and authoring environment, along with the company's technical support program and the opportunity given BioWare to influence the choice of new functionalities in Wwise. Austin co-studio director Gordon Walton said, “Over the time, our online game will evolve and so will our needs. We see Audiokinetic as a excellent partner who has the capability to bring us more tools in the future that will help us create an unrivaled gaming experience.”
