Big Stage Entertainment has licensed PortableYou, its 3-D facial modeling system capable of integrating into a variety of platforms to Icarus Studios and The Venue Network.
PortableYou allows users to create a 3D model of their face for free in less than two minutes using one to three photos taken with a standard digital camera. The technology can be intergrated into video games, virtual worlds, web sites, mobile apps, kiosk-based systems, and more. PortableYou's core components nclude APIs, code samples, methods, and reference libraries.
Icarus Studios is a provider of white label massively multi-player online games, virtual worlds, and serious games for entertainment, corporate and government clients. The developer will integrate PortableYou with its technology platform to allow users to create avatars for use in games and virtual environments.
The Venue Network, a virtual conferencing company, will integrate PortableYou VenueGen, its upcoming flagship product enabling users to create and customize virtual events and import 2D content, such as Adobe Flash and Microsoft PowerPoint, for the 3D meeting. With PortableYou, users will be able to create personalized avatars.
"By offering a powerful, unified system for the integration of a realistically animated 3-D version of yourself into your digital life, PortableYou has the potential to revolutionize how we both entertain ourselves and communicate through digital media," says Big Stage Entertainment CEO Phil Ressler.
He continues, "With the high level of personalization that PortableYou makes possible, digital media can evolve to truly reflect who we are in the real world, whether through life-like extension or alter ego fantasy. Faces are fundamental to human communication and adding recognizable, animated avatars to an application changes it fundamentally."
