AGEIA Technologies has announced that Big Huge Games is using the AGEIA PhysX chip for hardware acceleration of the company's upcoming sci-fi and fantasy real-time strategy game Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends
, to be published by Microsoft Game Studios.
Big Huge Games is using AGEIA's NovodeX SDK to drive all physics for game play and effects, so that even those who don't buy a PhysX chip will be able to enjoy certain levels of real-time physics while playing the game. However, when accelerated by AGEIA's PhysX chip, Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends
will deliver what the company describes as "a level of physics-based realism and interactivity unlike anything ever seen before in electronic games."
There's more information on both the NovodeX SDK and the hardware PhysX chip solution on AGEIA's official website
