Electronic Arts announced today that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson will serve as the cover athlete for the upcoming release of NFL Street 3. Developed by EA Tiburon, creators of the Madden series and recently released NFL Head Coach, NFL Street 3 is scheduled to ship on November 14 for the PlayStation 2 and PSP. The arcade style football title will add several new gameplay elements to the ongoing series, including the ability to jump into the air to collect items and game modifiers that exist above the playing field. Once airborne, players will be able to pull off style moves that rack up points. Also new to the game is the ability to control the Gamebreakers, and pull off power moves that are available to both the offense and the defense. Johnson has been a member of the Bengals since 2001, and is widely regarded as one of NFL's most productive receivers. Besides leading the AFC in receptions and receiving yards in 2005-06, Johnson has also earned three straight Pro Bowl selections. He has also paced the AFC in receiving yards for three straight seasons. "This is a big honor to be selected for the cover for NFL Street 3 since street football was the first step to learning our moves for our pro careers," said Johnson. "I really like this game and it is so much fun to play with all the new airborne moves you can do now. I've always been known to have style when I play but now I can show how stylin' I am in NFL Street 3."
