The British Academy of Film and Television Arts award for Interactive New Talent will again be presented at the Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival this year. The BAFTA is
currently seeking nominees for the award, which is presented to individual UK game creators who have been in the industry for less than five years.
Nominee submissions will be accepted from the same pool that's eligible for the award: any individual who's been working in interactive entertainment -- which includes producers, artists, programmers, designers, or sound designers -- for five years or less. The judging panel will be made up of the BAFTA Interactive Committee, and the winner will be announced by an established industry figure during the EIEF.
"We are very pleased to be working alongside the EIEF in recognising emerging talent within the video games industry," said Grant Dean, BAFTA Interactive Committee Chair. "It is essential that individuals gain credit for pushing the technical excellence and creativity within this art form."
The EIEF will be held from August 10th-14th At the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The deadline for entries is July 1, 2005.
