Avalon Style Entertainment has announced that it is one of the first Russian game studios to license Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3, which it will utilize for 4x4 Off Road III
, the latest entry in a series which previously used Avalon's proprietary technology.
4x4 Off Road III
, an off-road driving simulator currently in development for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, sets itself apart from other contemporary four-wheel driving games with trial-based races in which players will use problem-solving skills to traverse gaping mud puddles and scale massive heaps of rocks.
Published in Eastern and Central Europe by 1C Company, the series features realistic off-road tuning which allows players to tune and modify parts. Maintaining vehicles requires the use of winches, car jacks, air compressors, differential locks, and more.
Avalon Style expects the technologies within Unreal Engine 3, including its built-in vehicle support, PhysX system, and other features, to help achieve a more immersive racing experience in 4х4 Off Road III
Said Epic Games vice president Mark Rein: “We’re excited to see Avalon Style combine their background in making realistic off-road driving experiences with our Unreal Engine 3 technology. More and more of our licensees are proving that Unreal Engine 3 is not only a great cross-platform engine but also that it can be deployed across multiple genres. This is yet another example of that, and we’re eager to see this game’s release.”
