Australian developer Perception have revealed details of their unusual business model, which has seen the company buying the rights to develop Xbox and PlayStation 2 games based on the television series Stargate SG-1. Instead of pitching to publishers for work, the developer encouraged publishers to come to them with game deals, which has resulted in a $11.5 million deal with JoWooD. Speaking in the Australian Financial Review, founder Ben Lenzo, has said, “"We used to be the ones who were shafted by the publisher, but that wasn't sustainable as a business model. We were looking for a way to avoid the developer treadmill." Source: Polygon
