Mere weeks after being flooded with PSP games due to the system's launch, the Australian all-format sales charts are now falling under an avalanche of GBA titles -- the #1 game for the week,
Sims 2 expansion
Nightlife, stands alone as the single non-portable game on the chart.
Analyzing this significant new influx of titles in more detail, at least some of the new GBA titles are licensed properties, such as
Star Wars at #4,
Simpsons at #4,
Shark Tale and Shrek at #7, and
Incredibles at #9.
It's perhaps a little surprising to see a chart dominated so entirely with licensed portable titles, but the Christmas rush of both console and handheld titles is just kicking off in Australia, and hopefully, the holiday season will see some bigger names reclaiming the charts.
