ATI Technologies announced the Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics processor today, the first mobile graphics processor to support fully programmable pixel and vertex shading.
Features include:
Programmable pixel and vertex shaders, and support for DirectX 8.1.
A quad-pipe 3D architecture -- four parallel rendering pipelines.
Powerplay 3.0, a new version of ATI's power management technology which extends battery life in 3D applications and DVD playback.
Fullstream technology which accelerates video, removes blocky artifacts and improves the quality and scalability of streaming video using the chip's pixel shaders.
Multi-display support.
The Mobility Radeon will begin shipping in notebook PCs within the next month.
