A regulatory filing with the American Securities and Exchange Commission by Atari has revealed that the company has severed all relationships with developer Oddworld Inhabitants. The company previously owned a 50% stake in the developer, although they sold half of this investment in 2002, shortly after the release of Xbox launch title
Munch’s Oddysee.
The company’s remaining investment appears to have been sold to Microsoft for Oddworld’s share of $1.8 million in publishing royalties. However, there is confusion over the fact that the Redmond giant has so far failed to commit to publishing the developer’s next title, code-named
Stranger.
