Representatives from twelve major Asian markets are set to sign a Memorandum of Intent at the Game Convention Asia (GCA) 2007 conference, which will see them building closer ties and networking relations between their respective game associations.
The twelve game associations which have agreed to sign the memorandum represent Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The presidents of the national game associations from these countries will be in Singapore to attend the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Intent at the GCA 2007 event on September 6th. The memorandum will “seek to promote greater understanding between the various national game associations, and the games industry in each country”.
The signing is also intended to encourage closer networking and collaboration between the game associations and the member companies they represent. Various trade missions and partnerships have also been proposed, but will not be specified in the memorandum.
The GCA 2007 event is expected to attract 200 companies from around the world, as well as various venture capitalists and private equity associations based in Singapore and the Business Angels Network in South East Asia.
