Ascension Technology has announced the release of PCI Bird. The PCI Bird is a magnetic motion tracker designed for PC users across a range of applications.
The PCI Bird measures the position and orientation of one of more sensors in a pulsed DC magnetic field generated by a base unit transmitter. The PCI Bird dedicates a separate processor for each sensor, with each processor making up to 144 measurements per second.
