The PC Gaming Alliance continues to work quietly, expanding its membership with three more companies that will work with the non-profit consortium in advocating PC gaming. The PCGA said Thursday that the new members are DRM provider Arxan, memory distributor Corsair and accessories house Logitech. Joining the PCGA board is pro gaming hardware manufacturer Razer, with CEO Min-Liang Tan now serving as the newly-elected board director for the group. PCGA president Randy Stude said in a statement, "These members bring a wealth of experience and a rich diversity of products and services to the PCGA that will significantly enhance our existing membership base." He continued, "By joining our rapidly growing organization, they are demonstrating their support for expanding the PC gaming industry and their commitment to improving the PC gaming experience." New member company Arxan is in the business of DRM, anti-piracy measures that don't often sit well with PC gamers due to their often intrusive security methods. But company CTO Kevin Morgan said as part of the PCGA, Arxan aims to "ensure that due consideration is given to the protection of intellectual property, preservation of game integrity and unobtrusive DRM models." PCGA's website currently lists 23 member companies, including GameStop, Gas Powered Games, Capcom, Epic Games, Dell, Microsoft, Nvidia and others. The PCGA aims to "keep PC gaming at the forefront of the industry, help it to overcome its challenges, and continue to fulfill its limitless potential," according to the organization. In March this year, PCGA revealed a research study indicating that PC gaming software revenues worldwide reached $13.1 billion in 2009, a 3 percent increase over the previous year.
