Arkadium, creators of the Gamedek service for casual online games, today launched an updated version of the system that expands the number of potential players by eliminating the requirement of using the Gamedek IM platform.
The new version, Gamedek.com, is entirely Web based, and allows players using either the MSN or Web interface to play with each other. The other significant enhancement in this version is the addition of free play--for those who don't desire to play against other players for money, and for those who aren't old enough to do so.
Now consisting of over sixty online games, Gamedek and Gamedek.com are primarily designed to let people play games of skill (such as backgammon, solitaire, chess, and darts.) against friends and strangers for money. In addition to general play against all Arkadium members, you can now also set up private, password-protected tournaments, so that only invited players can participate.
