In a curious move, considering the company’s apparent lack of interest in online games, Nintendo officials have signed a deal with AOL to make the media giant their “preferred ISP” for GameCube online titles. Considering that there are no first-party online games planned for the GameCube the real purpose of the deal seems to be in terms of cross-promotion, as well as perhaps laying the foundations for a closer relationship centered around the next-generation “N5” console.
