Analyst: Activision 'Highly Likely' To Sell Skateboard Peripherals With Next Tony Hawk

Cowen Group analyst Doug Creutz thinks it's "highly likely" that Activision will ship a skateboard peripheral with the next Tony Hawk game in 2009, given the profitability of the guitar controller-bundled Guitar Hero franchise.
Cowen Group analyst Doug Creutz thinks it's "highly likely" that Activision will ship a skateboard peripheral with the next Tony Hawk game in 2009. Given the profitability of the guitar controller-bundled Guitar Hero franchise with its higher price point, the analyst says bundling a peripheral with Tony Hawk could give Activision a similar revenue boost. Calling Activision "the best company in an attractive industry," Cowen Group analyst Doug Creutz is enthusiastic about its prospects -- notably the return of the Tony Hawk franchise after a "much needed" year off. "We believe that the extra year of development time and the opportunity for consumers to shake off franchise fatigue could contribute to better unit sales than the franchise has enjoyed in recent years," says Creutz.
