AMD Reports Q4 Loss

Advanced Micro Devices reported its Q4 2001 results today after the market closed, posting a net loss of $15.8 million (5 cents per share), compared to a profit of $178 million (53 cents a share) last year.
Revenues also fell, to $952 million from $1.18 billion last year, but managed to beat most analysts' expectations. The company said it will return to profitability in Q2 2002. AMD said its PC processor revenues increased by over 50 percent over Q3, due to traditional holiday demand.
