Aladdin Knowledge Systems has released Privilege 6.0, the latest version of its piracy prevention product. Privilege 6.0 uses a customizable licensing framework that lets publishers distribute games electronically and protect them with anti-piracy, anti-debugging, and encryption features. Unlicensed copies of software operate in trial mode, with use periods and limited feature sets defined by the publisher.
Features include:
-Encryption, obfuscation and anti-debugging support. Publishers can incorporate a protected component into other products, assign it to any license or associate it with any offer without needing to recompile or re-protect.
-Modular license flexibility. Privilege 6.0 lets publishers update installed products, licenses, license terms, or activation interfaces independently. This means publishers can deliver new licenses -- perhaps to enable extended functionality -- without involving the development team.
-Complete activation user interface control. Developers and marketers have control over the activation user experience and can use different activation user interfaces.
