Activision To Distribute Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Stateside

Publisher Activision has signed a distribution deal with veteran UK developer/publisher System 3 to release Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, a racing sim for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, and Nintendo DS, in North America.
Publisher Activision has signed a distribution deal with System 3 to release Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli in North America. The racing sim, which is under development for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, and Nintendo DS, will feature licensed cars and tracks, as well as “true Ferrari racing dynamics.” Previously, London-based developer and publisher System 3 (Impossible Mission remake, The Last Ninja) announced in June that it had secured the rights to publish Ferrari licensed games for multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PSP. In addition to featuring over 15 international racing circuits, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will include multiple gameplay modes, such as Ferrari Challenge Seasons, Time Trial, Quick Race, and Endurance. Up to 16 players can race against each other online in different challenges, including circuits, hill climbs and more. Downloadable cars, tracks, and customization options will be made available on a monthly basis, as will updates for the official team and car rosters at the start of each season. The Nintendo DS version will have 4-player wireless capabilities, including adhoc play and single card game sharing features. System 3 also adds that the Wii version of the game will “fully support” the Wii's unique control system, including control using a Wii steering-wheel. System 3 and Activision will showcase the PlayStation 3 version of Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli to the public for the first time at the Montreal Grand Prix from June 6th - 8th, 2008. Playable kiosks will be open to the all attendees in the Fan Zone. Said System 3 CEO Mark Cale: “Without a doubt, this is the defining Ferrari experience for video games. It has been a collaboration with professionals on every level and we’ve truly captured the power, beauty, and excitement that is the Ferrari Challenge Series. This excitement is taken to a whole new level with the partnership of Activision’s power within the North American marketplace.”
